Essex North Shore
Agricultural and Technical School
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2024 - 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
For our 2024 Harvest Dinner, we highlighted and supported our neighbors at the Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School.
It was an inspiring afternoon and evening filled with walks, food literacy talks, networking, dining, and family-friendly outdoor activities. We showcased the remarkable work of students and faculty engaged in various farming, aquaponics, food security, and environmental initiatives. People came to learn, connect, and celebrate their outstanding efforts.
Before dinner, there were guided walking farm tours, lawn games, and other activities. During a savory dinner and dessert, Speakers Maggie Nowak and Colleen Kielbania presented information about food literacy activities and funding, 4H and other national student agricultural involvement, and invited attendees to share their own insights related to the intersections of farming, relationships, and the environment. In support of all attendees, quieter, self-serve, family-friendly activities remained available throughout the afternoon and evening, including during the optional, one-mile, 45 minute walking tour.
