Harvest dinners

Kinship Farm has been hosting annual Harvest Dinners in support of our neighbors and partners since 2019. Dinners have been smaller and larger, indoors and outdoors. Know of an organization who works in two out of the three of our SRE focus areas who we can collaboratively support through hosting a future harvest dinner? Contact us through our Connect page.

Harvest Dinner 2024

For our 2024 Harvest Dinner, held on Saturday, September 28, we highlighted and supported our neighbors at the Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School, and took place on their campus.

It was an inspiring afternoon and evening filled with campus tours, food literacy and 4H talks, networking, dining, and family-friendly outdoor activities. We showcased the remarkable work of students and faculty engaged in various farming, aquaponics, food security, and environmental initiatives. People came to learn, connect, and celebrate their outstanding efforts.

Before dinner, there were guided walking farm tours, lawn games, and other activities. During a savory dinner and dessert, Speakers Maggie Nowak and Colleen Kielbania presented information about food literacy activities and funding, 4H and other national student agricultural involvement, and invited attendees to share their own insights related to the intersections of farming, relationships, and the environment. In support of all attendees, quieter, self-serve, family-friendly activities remained available throughout the afternoon and evening, including during the optional, one-mile, 45 minute walking tour.
